HMO Explained

Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) Options

HMOs offer a range of health care services through a network of participating providers, including doctors, specialists, hospitals and other health care facilities.

Depending on where you live or work, you may be able to choose an HMO for your medical coverage. With HMOs, you have no claim forms to file, no deductibles to pay, and generally only a copayment for office visits. HMOs generally provide the same broad range of services covered by the two PPO options, including prescription drugs. However, you must use the health care providers affiliated with your HMO. If you use providers outside the HMO network, your care is not covered, except in emergencies.
